From the muddy banks of the Ouachita River to the Heart of Texas, Ouachita
(wah-shi-tah) has evolved their sound from two songwriters to a full six-piece band. Established in Southern Arkansas by drummer David Pennington, and guitarist Drew deFrance, they took their project to Austin, Texas to finish forming the group. The music created by Ouachita has developed into a classic rock-n-roll influenced Southern Rock 'N Soul band. With the addition to lead vocalist/guitarist/harmonica Kurt McMahan, saxophonist Hank Bragg, bassist Josh Brandenburg, and piano/organ Jonah Kane-West, they've taken Austin, Texas back to its roots. With their raw energy and electrified shows, they've established their name among Austin music fans. Recently, Ouachita released their self-titled debut album and is preparing to tour this summer in support of their release.
